Onyeka "Big O" Okongwu is an American professional basketball player entering his 3rd season playing for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association. He played college basketball at the University of Southern California (Trojans) and was a four-year starter at Chino Hills High School playing alongside current NBA players Lonzo Ball and LaMelo Ball as well as G-Leaguer LiAngelo Ball.

ATLANTA -– On Saturday, May 14 2022, Kate’s Club, an Atlanta-area non-profit which empowers children and teens facing life after the death of a parent, sibling, or caregiver, will host the 2022 Mourning Glory Gala. Theevent will be held at the Loews Atlanta Hotel and will include a seated dinner and open bar, silent and live auction, as well as a live band. More than 300 guests are expected to attend the black-tie optional event which has become a signature annual fundraiser for the organization.

Onyeka started playing basketball at a young age. He made his way around the basketball circuit playing in local leagues and eventually playing AAU basketball for the Compton Magic travel ball team.
Onyeka played all four years of high school basketball at Chino Hills High School playing alongside Lonzo Ball, Lamelo Ball, and Liangelo Ball. Other noteworthy teammates include Eli Scott, Andre Ball, and Cameron Shelton.
Onyeka committed to USC as a 5 star high school recruit. It didn't take long for O to make a big impact on the team. He finished his freshman year on the ALL PAC-12 First team as well as the ALL PAC-12 freshmen team.
